Il Garum piazza Monteoliveto, 2/a tel.0815423228 closed on tuesday. Very near to Donnalbina7, a quality restaurant that renovates the neapolitan cooking. Guided from the owners Gino and Annamaria you will taste food as the short pasta with local claims and papavero seeds, the flat pasta with Garum sauce (an ancient roman sauce), the leg of rabbit with a local apple sauce, the cream of crabs and prawns with spinach and lemon and the excellent neapolitan sushi. On sunday night it works as vinarium. Medium prices.

Antica pizzeria da Michele via Cesare Sersale,1 tel. 0815539204 closed on Sundays in two large rooms, the best pizza in town, only in the main varieties : fried, marinara and margherita.
Tripperia Fiorenzano via Pignasecca 14 Open Mon-Sat, all day, 8.30am-8.30pm. An immaculate place that specialised in tripe dishes. Five tables, each with a blue-checked oilcloth, big fridges at the back, a small kitchen down one side and, fronting the street, a small display cabinet decorously hung with blanched tripe, cows' feet, pigs' trotters and a bit of calf's head, kept cool and clean by water running over them, ready for home cooking. Antonio Moglie, a third-generation trippaio - a tripe specialist; a butcher and cook all in one ran the place with his son. He cooked to order in a battered pot, using just olive oil, tomatoes, chilli, salt and pepper. It's fantastic, trust me.

Trattoria Casillo vicoletto Rosario a Portamedina 25, tel. 0815522248 (in front of Pellegrini hospital) open 13-16 mon-sat. The owner in the hall , at the oven his mother : very good neapolitan food in a comfortable and familiar atmosphere. I advice you spaghetti with very tasty seafruit (telline) , potatoes and pasta, very little octopus with tomato sauce, and moreover. Low-medium prices.
