Mergellina and Posillipo
Mergellina is a fishing and yachting centre, and is also the terminal for boats to Capri, Ischia and Sorrento. Lining the waterfront are a number of chalets which serve ice cream and snacks, among them the taralli caldi, small ring-shaped biscuits made from flour, water, pork fat, almonds and pepper. These salty and spicy biscuits go well with a glass of beer and make an ideal snack as you walk along the seafront.

Posillipo: This splendid walk, which goes to Capo Posillipo and Coroglio, can be undertaken starting from Mergellina, climbing via Posillipo, a magnificent road. The road winds along the hill, rising up above the sea among important pieces of architecture such as Palazzo Donn'Anna, and elegant parks and exclusive villas, which can be admired from the sea, by doing the classical touristic excursion along the coast (since they are often hidden from view). But what is not hidden from view is the stupendous land-and-sea-scape which opens up along the entire lenght of the route, right up to Capo Posillipo
